Diamonds and Pearls

While exhausting the internet for vintage hair accessories for my wedding, I came accross this lovely diamond and pearl (not real) hair comb. It was the perfect frame for my hair and held in my black tulle veil beautifully. I was a bit worried to order it and get it and see that it was in not so good of shape, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was probably only used a few times by it's orginal owner. I am not sure what era it is from, but I know I love it and will cherish this little treasure for the rest of my life.

While I Was Away...

It seems I acquire little vintage goodies even when I least expect it. When I arrived at my Dad's house on the night I flew into LA, he had a package waiting for me. Turns out I hadn't updated my ebay address and a seller sent a purchase to his place by mistake. It was a little silver-plated condiment set. The pieces are egg-shaped and pretty cute. Alas, the tiny spoon is missing but the cobalt glass liner is so charming, I barely miss it. Interestingly, the bottom parts are super shiny. I wonder if I polished the shit out of the tops, they would match again?!

Also while in LA, I bought this toiletries set at an antique shop in Santa Barbara whilst shopping with Bridget and Oliver. We've been antiquing with him since he was an infant, securely strapped to my chest inside a Baby Bjorn. I got super excited when I spotted them on a shelf, because glass and sterling silver sets are HIGH on my list of gotta-have-its. When I picked them up and realized they were plastic-y I almost put them back. Then I noticed how shiny and undamaged they were and realized they could be just as appealing sitting on a changing table filled with little baby-sized lovelies. (someday)

Finally, this coaster set I found at the Salvation Army when shopping with the dynamic duo- Aunt Letty and Aunt Pattie! We laughed and chatted our way around the store, having a great time. The coasters were marked individually. Can't help but wonder if they are missing a few in the set. I have fantasized about finding more like them in different colors! That would be RAD!!
